Mooie autovrije klim met mooie uitzichten. Klimpercentages zijn schappelijk. Goed wegdek. Smalle weg, dus oppassen met afdalende tegemoetkomende fietsers.

Peaceful cycling over a small farm road. The climb ends between the houses in De Plank. The last part on bad tarmac if I remember correctly. I wouldn't make a detour for this climb but it's great to use as a connecting route.
Heerlijk rustig fietsen over een klein boeren weggetje. Het klimmetje eindigt tussen de huizen in De Plank. Het laatste stukje over slecht asfalt als ik me goed herinner. Ik zou geen omweg maken voor deze klim maar prima om als verbindingsroute te gebruiken.

Schilberg from Slenaken is more fun if you want to enter Belgium, or Gieveld descent if you come from the Loorberg. Nice if you have done the other two too often and want something different.
Prima klim met erg weinig verkeer. Ook omdat er een soort 'trekkersluis' ligt waar auto's niet overheen kunnen. Als je van Slenaken komt en naar de grens rijdt is dit de eerste klim in België. Schilberg vanuit Slenaken is leuker als je België in wilt, of Gieveld afdaling als je van de Loorberg komt. Wel leuk als je die andere twee al veel te vaak gedaan hebt en wat anders wilt.
Beautiful straightforward climb that is not to be underestimated. It is less beautiful than its namesake which comes from the other side on the main road, but it is a nice quiet road. Good to use as a crossing to several beautiful climbs in this region.
Mooie recht toe recht aan beklimming die niet te onderschatten is. Hij is minder fraai dan z,n naamgenoot die van de andere kant uitkomt op de provinciale weg, maar het is wel een lekker rustig weggetje. Goed te gebruiken als doorsteek naar meerdere mooie beklimmingen in deze streek.
