One of the climbs to ride from Route du Val-Dieu towards Charneux where, at 1½ kilometres long, this one is still a must. When you start the climb you get to ride the first 500 metres right away with double digits as gradient. The next 500 metres it flattens out and you can prepare yourself for the final steeper part of the climb. This starts just before the junction with Cerfontaine. As you get more into the openness you have a view of the Croix de Charneux on the left. ... read more

Pleasant climb in beautiful surroundings. Right at the foot you already get a nice view of where it goes. Good tarmac, but there are splits here and there on the road, so watch out!

This does come highly recommended. Narrow, sheltered and tough start after which the landscape opens up a bit and you are treated to beautiful views and the cross at the top. The percentages get a bit easier here too so you can enjoy the scenery a bit more.

A delightful climb over mostly excellent tarmac (only in the last stretch some worse spots), in beautiful surroundings and with decent views at the top (at the Croix de Charneux). The climb starts off nice and snappy after which it stops for a while. A little further on, it goes steadily up again but at a slightly lower percentage. Very quiet road. Popular with cyclists by the looks of it, and rightly so.

Beautiful climb! Great tarmac and you enjoy the view after such a climb.
From Waides and Motroux I did such a transition section towards Aubel

Mooie klim!

A two-stage climb in the Aubel/Val-Dieu area, where there are dozens of climbs to choose from. The first stage is steep, sheltered, and after a short descent it turns into a runner in open landscape. Headwinds can be a spoilsport if you want to push on. Wind is a factor anyway on the relatively open, rolling plains of Hervé country.
A climb to take if you are exploring this area or if you are passing through between Slenaken and Hervé or the Vesdre. This is an alternative for the climb to the cross ("Croix de Charneux") via La Cour. And like many "côtes" around Val-Dieu, located in a quiet, beautiful area.
