Quite a setback is what this col is. Maybe the name and the Tour de France the col gave me a positive feeling beforehand but the col can be captured in 1 word. Boring. Predominantly long motorway heading towards the pass. Last 2km there is still something of a view on the right (did see a lot of vultures). But that's it. Highlight is the brilliant signposting of the old Route du Cols. Don't detour for it.... read more

A climb that does not bore from the start because of beautiful views. Plenty of turns and the gradient is not extreme making it a nice climb to start with. It cycled nicely, just a shame the restaurant was closed so we missed out on the crepes :)

A straightforward pass that lets you warm up before the more complicated gradients. It was my very first pass and the feeling at the top was fantastic...
The fork on the way up towards Peyragudes on the Loudenvielle side is shorter, but steeper!
The climb up to the Altiport is worth doing, but you need to be prepared!
