Hot: But what a violent beauty this climb is! No respite and a real risk of explosion. Honestly I thought I was pretty well trained and fortunately because what a slap. Be careful with your power to weight ratio, if like me you are a bit limited (I'm 75kg) you risk suffering unnecessarily. The setting at the top is magnificent and worth a stop. And there is a shop with biscuits made on the spot (well as a baker I'm not a fan, the recipe should be changed, but that's another subjec... read more

Tough climb! Reasonable road surface, few steep bits a bit slippery with twigs and leaves.

Heftig klimmetje!

Done about fifty times in my life very difficult but so pleasant when you get to the top the area is really quiet and if you have a Gravel or mountain bike you can do another 4 or 5 km in the forest and turn around because cul de sac

Rather a nice challenge than really a nice climb. Most of it is in the forest with few turns as well. Despite being steep there are nowhere extremely steep sections unlike on the nearby Pas de Pertuis and it is doable at a pace. Near the top where the mountain falls a bit over the road and just before the monastery, the view is finally beautiful.

Be careful with your power to weight ratio, if like me you are a bit limited (I'm 75kg) you risk suffering unnecessarily. The setting at the top is magnificent and worth a stop. And there is a shop with biscuits made on the spot (well as a baker I'm not a fan, the recipe should be changed, but that's another subject). Water supply at the shop (except in winter). Very little traffic in the cul de sac. My first discovery thanks to ClimbFinder, thanks to the site!

What a stronghold! Long stretches at 15/16%. The rest oscillates between 12; 13%!
But the climb is beautiful even if the surface is not great.
To be done, for sure!

Very hard, especially when you have no development...What a relief to get to the top and what a satisfaction to have crossed those passages at over 15%!

One of the local terrors, with the Bastille of Grenoble. The percentages on the graph are sufficiently revealing... Very small gear ratios are essential to be able to taste the excellent biscuits made by the nuns of the Chalais monastery at the summit :-)
