During my bicycle trip to Spain with my bike and trailer, I wanted to take the coastal road from Banyuls sur Mer to the Spanish border. The locals advised against this (dangerous for traffic), so I took the Col de Banyuls in the direction of Espolla. The first 7 km could be called touristy: along a small river through beautiful vineyards.
