Actually, this climb is wrong on it. The SS12 is a road pirate's paradise so avoid it! Instead, follow the cycle route the region has created. This one is quite tough at the beginning but gets easier as you go along. Via a car-free former railway track, you can make your way to the Brenner Pass.

Only at the top does it get busy again as the cycle path ends there. You can have a nice cup of coffee here though, as Brenner as a village just has everything.

On the way, you can gloat at the congested motorists while you relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain walls.

Deze is aan het begin nogal eens flink pittig maar wordt gaandeweg eenvoudiger. Via een autovrij voormalige spoorbaan kan je naar de Brennerpas toe.

Pas bovenop wordt het weer druk want daar houdt het fietspad op. Je kunt hier wel een mooie kop koffie drinken, want Brenner als dorpje heeft gewoon alles.

Onderweg kun je je verkneukelen aan de filerijdende automobilisten terwijl jij lekker ontspannen geniet van de mooie bergmuren.

Over a distance of 22 km, slightly longer than the main road through the bicycle loop, which turns into the Fleres valley in Gossenssas and ends via an old railway bed on the western flank of the Brenner valley, one climbs up to the border crossing.
The end point is a busy border town with a special atmosphere, where in addition to the necessary catering facilities and even a bicycle clothing shop, a large outlet shopping centre has now been built.
