Nice climb where you can maintain a good rhythm. Asphalt was ok and also not too much traffic, so all in all a pleasant climb.
Mooie klim waar je een goed ritme kan behouden. Asfalt lag er ok bij en ook niet teveel verkeer, dus al bij al een aangename klim.
Steady climb. First between fields, then in the forest. Nowhere really steep. No traffic during the week. Road surface in the forest not so good, but uphill you don't notice that much.
Gelijkmatige klim. Eerst tussen de velden, daarna in het bos. Nergens echt steil. In de week geen verkeer. Wegdek in het bos niet zo goed, maar bergop merk je daar niet veel van.
Detracting a half point here as the road surface leaves something to be desired in what's otherwise the most beautiful part of the climb, within the forest. It was also a tad busy, traffic-wise, on a weekend.
Having said that, really scenic climb that doesn't sting particularly and can be tackled with a steady rhythm (or quite fast, if you've got the right legs)
Beautiful and long climb through the forest of the Pays des Collines that immediately gives a real "Ardennes" feeling. The slope is never excessively steep, but nice and constant, allowing you to keep your rhythm. Especially the winding part through the forest makes this climb special and very pleasant to ride, especially in a longer tour.
Prachtige en langgerekte klim door het bos van het Pays des Collines die meteen een echt “Ardens” gevoel geeft. De helling is nooit overdreven steil, maar wel lekker constant, waardoor je mooi in je ritme kan blijven rijden. Nice climb with gradual inclines suited for high rpm training. A nice little Village area the top. However, compared to other climbs in this region, nothing really special. Other and nice gems can be found more towards Pays des Collines but are less famous.
Fine climb, often one of the last climbs in our route, and here robberies have been fought anyway to see who can be ridden off. At the roundabout opportunity to wait for the rest, or turn left and ride straight to the top.

Nice climb that winds through the forest. Moderate percentages but nice and long. When you get to the inn you are not yet at the top but there are a few hundred metres to follow until just before the stone road. This last bit spoils the climb a bit as the road is less here and there is traffic. If you're in the area definitely give it a go.
Leuke beklimming die slingert doorheen het bos. Gematigde percentages maar lekker lang. Als je aan de herberg komt ben je nog niet boven maar er volgen nog enkele honderden meters tot net voor de steenweg. Dit laatste stukje verpest de klim een beetje doordat de weg hier minder is en er verkeer is. Als je in de streek bent zeker eens oprijden.

Still a special climb around here. Good road surface that only gets slightly worse through the forest, but very even percentages. Good as a training climb. You can finish the climb before you reach the junction with the larger road on the left and have something nice to eat or drink at one of the cosy catering establishments.
Toch wel een speciale klim hier in de buurt die ik heel graag alleen of met een groepje omhoog rijdt. Goed wegdek dat enkel door het bos iets minder goed wordt, maar zeer gelijkmatige percentages. Goed als trainingsklim. Je kan voordat je aan de kruising met de grotere weg links afslaagt de klim al beëindigen en iets lekker eten of drinken bij één van de gezellige horecazaken aan Chalet Gérard.
Nice climb that is doable for everyone. Almost no traffic and a very wide track. Some parts of the track are not too good, but certainly doable.

Very nice climb that is never steep (The elevation profile is not correct here, because I think this climb never goes above 6-7％, and certainly not in the forest. The first 500m are the steepest, after that it's a real runner.

This climb is actually not located in the Flemish Ardennes but in its Walloon extension, "Le Pays des Collines". The same geological region as the Flemish Ardennes but the roads there are usually more rural and quiet. Le Bois de la Houppe is long and not very steep but it gives a real Ardennes feeling when you ride through the forest at the top. Descended during the Grinta Challenge - La Tournay.

Dezelfde geologische regio dan de Vlaamse Ardennen maar de wegen daar zijn meestal landelijker en rustiger. Le Bois de la Houppe is lang en niet bepaald steil maar geeft een echt Ardens gevoel als je doort het bos aan de top rijdt. Wort afgedaald gedurende de Grinta Challenge - La Tournay.
