Nice climb that is still good for the first 5 km, until the junction and the road suddenly becomes almost twice as steep! Very good tarmac, but percentages up to 10% up to the top. Unfortunately, there are not many views, but you cycle through the forest for the most part. At the top start the ski lifts and there is a restaurant with terrace where you can drink something. Then you can enjoy the 12 km long descent (sometimes with moderate asphalt).... read more

Nice climb with little traffic. Don't forget to look back now and then for the beautiful views towards Bohinj. Also nice that there is now a separate cycle path from Bled to Bohinj Bistrica, so you can make a nice round trip. Asphalt on the other side (downhill if you cycle through) is bad, though.

Ridden on a mountain bike, with really wide tyres, and then it is anything but smooth riding. Along the way, you come across the sign 12%. This is not the real thing, but it is still a tough climb, and indeed the last few kilometres to the top are really heavy. Pay attention in the descent: the road is not wide, keep your right side, because it is not only dangerous with cars, but also with bikers.

I also did this climb today. I think the ski station at the top is called Soriska Planina. Maarten's description tells you everything about this climb. The first part is enjoyable. Riding up a col with a nice cadence. But the last 4 km are a real countdown. It is a struggle to get the pedals around. It is very quiet by the way. Very little traffic and not a single cyclist on the climb. The forest and shade is very pleasant when it is 30° :o)
