Beginenberg via Schwarzer Weg

The start may take some getting used to as gravel combined with stretches of asphalt but after that - and as it gets steeper - you get a complete asphalt road under your wheels. The climb runs through beautiful surroundings and follows a nice route.

Nice surprise right through the forest, as if you were away from civilisation for a while. Unfortunately, at the end of the descent there is a cart track. If that had been asphalted too, this climb really would have been perfect.

found 'm easy to do, approach via the Brandenberg and then continue cycling. no, not everywhere equally (well) paved but I found it (dry weather) fine to do on the road bike with 25mm (let alone if you have 28'ers). after the climb continued to the Gocherstrasse, through a gate (wide enough) and small piece (200/300m?) on a cart track that was otherwise fine. Then you have a loop/round of about 5-6 kilometres.

Very nice varied climb through very nice scenery. With the road bike I won't go over it easily but with the gravel bike it was just enjoyable. Definitely come back again.

I take the Beginenberg after the Brandenberg as a shortcut to Geldenberg a little further away. The easiest climb of these three pleasant hills of the forest, and the most beautiful and peaceful. This hill is a wonderful interlude.
The road surface is not very good, but certainly doable on a racing bike.

Together with the Brandenberg it forms a beautiful hidden pearl in the Reichswald. If I compare the Strava segment with the Geldenberg and much better known climbs in the region, it shows how little this one is climbed.

It contains a very nice swing through a small valley where the trees almost form a clearing. It is not steep, you can fully enjoy the surroundings and the forest air. If you get very nervous of bad road surface or even gravel, this climb might not be suitable. Otherwise you have a beautiful combination of Brandenberg from Kranenburg and this one.
