Nice surprise right through the forest, as if you were away from civilisation for a while. Unfortunately, at the end of the descent there is a cart track. If that had been asphalted too, this climb really would have been perfect.
Mooie verrassing dwars door het bos, alsof je even helemaal weg bent uit de bewoonde wereld. Aan het eind van de afdaling bevindt helaas wel een karrenspoor. Als dat ook was geasfalteerd was deze klim echt perfect.
found 'm easy to do, approach via the Brandenberg and then continue cycling. no, not everywhere equally (well) paved but I found it (dry weather) fine to do on the road bike with 25mm (let alone if you have 28'ers). after the climb continued to the Gocherstrasse, through a gate (wide enough) and small piece (200/300m?) on a cart track that was otherwise fine. Then you have a loop/round of about 5-6 kilometres.
vond 'm goed te doen, aanloop via de Brandenberg en dan doorfietsen. nee, niet overal even (goed) verhard maar ik vond het (droog weer) prima te doen op de racefiets met 25mm (laat staan als je 28'ers hebt). na de klim doorgereden naar de Gocherstrasse, een hek door (breed zat) en klein stuk (200/300m?) over een karrenspoor dat er verder prima bij lag. Dan heb je een lusje/rondje van kilometer of 5-6.
Very nice varied climb through very nice scenery. With the road bike I won't go over it easily but with the gravel bike it was just enjoyable. Definitely come back again.
Zeer leuke afwisselende klim door zeer mooie omgeving. Met de racefiets zal ik er niet snel over heen gaan maar met de gravel bike was het alleen maar genieten. Kom zeker nog een keer terug.
I take the Beginenberg after the Brandenberg as a shortcut to Geldenberg a little further away. The easiest climb of these three pleasant hills of the forest, and the most beautiful and peaceful. This hill is a wonderful interlude.
The road surface is not very good, but certainly doable on a racing bike.
Ik neem deze Beginenberg na de Brandenberg als doorsteek naar Geldenberg een stukje verder weg. De makkelijkste klim van deze drie prettige heuvels van het Wald, en de mooiste en rustigste. Heerlijk intermezzo, deze heuvel.
Wegdek is niet best, maar zeker te doen op een racefiets.
Together with the Brandenberg it forms a beautiful hidden pearl in the Reichswald. If I compare the Strava segment with the Geldenberg and much better known climbs in the region, it shows how little this one is climbed.
It contains a very nice swing through a small valley where the trees almost form a clearing. It is not steep, you can fully enjoy the surroundings and the forest air. If you get very nervous of bad road surface or even gravel, this climb might not be suitable. Otherwise you have a beautiful combination of Brandenberg from Kranenburg and this one.
Samen met de Brandenberg vormt het een prachtig verborgen parel in het Reichswald. Als ik het Strava segment vergelijk met de Geldenberg en nog veel bekendere beklimmingen in de regio, dan blijkt wel hoe weinig deze wordt beklommen.
Er zit een hele mooie slinger in door een klein dal waar de bomen bijna een open plek vormen. Steil is het niet, je kunt optimaal genieten van de omgeving en de boslucht. Als je heel nerveus wordt van slecht wegdek of zelfs gravel, dan is deze beklimming misschien niet geschikt. Anders heb je er een prachtige combi bij van Brandenberg vanuit Kranenburg en deze.
