First time.on this one and went a bit too hard at the start and almost didn't make it past the red secretion, but danced on the pedals and finally crested and sat down to finish off the rest. Rode it at about 7.00am so it was very quiet, just one person walking up it. No cars or fsrm traffic. Not sure I would have made the red section in the wet as I imagine it would be pretty slippy if you got out of the saddle. Worth a detour to do, and a good lung stretcher!... read more

Local hill for me, done about 15 times. The route to same summit from north was dubbed 'Hell Squared' by a cycling buddy. This one is possibly harder though on account of the very steep bit near the top (beginning with very poor bit of surface by the farm), so I call it Hell Cubed! One to avoid in the wet/winter due to farm mud. Also, more traffic than you'd think for such a narrow lane, due to the walker's car park on top. Views only briefly, near hill fort parking after the steep bit.
