Perhaps the second most interesting way up Ashendon. The climb from Westcott is nicer, and climb from Dorton is tough. This one is fairly straightforward, and can pretty much be done in the big ring, with a bit of an effort to get up that short ramp lower down. You can try and carry speed from the descent off the Winchendon ridge, but the start of the climb is too far away, and you run out of momentum before you get there. The views from the upper stages of the climb are good, back towards the Winchendon ridge. There are several hills in this area, none of them are very big, but you can put together a decent amount of climb by linking them - Winchendon, Ashendon, Brill, Chilton, Chearsley (at one end of the Winchendon ridge).

Never feels like much of a hill, despite the gradient. Worth going via for some sustained gradient
