Spectacular! If you like those leg-wrecking passes and you're in the area, it's a must-see. I last climbed it a month and a half ago and in my opinion the numbers don't do justice to the toughness of those 4km. of hell from La Drova, when you head up that concrete straight.
That straight start in crescendo in the urbanisation ended up being devastating. At the end the slope reaches 22-23% and leaves you with empty legs, wanting to take the first right-hand bend, changing to asphalt and softening the slope. After that, a stretch at 10% tastes like glory on this again quite straight stretch with a mini downhill in between.
After the no trespassing sign (you can continue) we soon enter the final concrete stretch of horseshoe bends. At this point there are still 2 long kilometres to climb with the only respite being a mini descent at the Collado de les Bigues.
This final part is once again very demanding and agonising, in which you have to twist and turn on your bike to overcome it, once again overcoming some peaks that reach 23%. Even the last straight is eternal, being longer than it seems, when you are almost at the top, as from this point there are already some antennas like the ones you will see after reaching the green metal gate that puts an end to the climb.
Espectacular!
Really another one of those lovely, typically Spanish goat tracks. Coming out of the village, unfortunately, we got off the bike for a while to step over the fence. On the way over sawdust and down past big branches (trees were being cut). But it was nice. Going back down is really hell on trails like this. Especially when it is full of branches and sawdust ;-).
Echt weer zo'n heerlijk, typisch Spaans geitenpad.
Already in the first kilometer you understand that it is f..... hard :-) Take it easy and enjoy it!
The climbing profile from Gandia doesn't lie. But it doesn't matter if you come from Pla de Corrals or Simat, it will be tough either way.
Climb from Hell to Heaven. It is already an achievement if you make it through the first 300 metres without coming to a halt. During the climb there are about 5 of these kind of sections that you have to endure every time. The view at the top is phenomenal. You have to walk 20 meters to see the valley in all its glory.
