Steepest climb this side of Lake Maggiore I've had so far. Until the last 1.5 km it is still doable. The last 1.5 km has hugely steep sections including a 500-metre stretch at 20%.
Along the way, occasionally nice views of Lake Maggiore, unfortunately there is not much to see at the end point.
The first part is a wide 2-lane road with mostly good tarmac. The last part the road is a bit less, but not very disturbing.
Quite a lot of traffic, but you're not really bothered by that. The last stretch is virtually traffic-free.
