Last major climb of a tour that was no less major: alcay, cayolar de Bosmendieta, port de Larrau in return, col de Bagarguy then Sensibile, Mendive, Behorleguy, Aphanise, Ahuski, alcay(4100d+for 112km) A rainy start to this 5/09, but then the weather improved to grey with no rain, perfect for riding without getting too hot or too cold. A ride that makes me want to explore all the micro-roads that dot the sector between Arneguy and Alcay, the area is vast and rich and can be extended on the Spanish side.
Not bad to have light Gravel tyres for junctions that penetrate a little more into the already wild regions of the sector.
The holidays are coming to an end under buckets of water, but we've had a great time and we can't wait for next year!
In the meantime, we'll be back on our favourite roads between Ariege, Corbières and Montagne Noire
