The zavelstraat is a cobblestone street that is long and can be pretty tough gives you the Ronde Van Vlaanderen feeling but then it's in the Hageland region, the road towards the top turns in to worn pavement with some potholes tough, my tip is keep seated, look out for cars or cyclists at the crossover especially and don't forget to look for potholes.

Very fun slope to do! Especially the beginning of it.
The beginning of the slope goes through a "monumental" hollow road. Beautiful scenery here.
Afterwards follow the cobbles which are also good to do. After the crossroads, the cobbles get slightly worse.
The tarmac road that follows still has potholes, so watch out there.
The last part of the slope is a bit false flat. Nowhere does the slope get really tough.

The combination of the cobblestones and the surroundings gives the slope something special!

Lovely climb in a quiet area. From the crossroads with the Lange Lo street the climb goes up. First you come across a narrowing of the road and then you ride a few hundred meters over cobblestones which make it even more difficult. After the cobblestones you turn right in the direction of the Molenstraat. This last spur is on a bad asphalted road with some dangerous deep pits on both sides of the road. It is advisable to take the middle of the road which is not dangerous since the road is almost free of traffic (unless you have a lot of bad luck). Highly recommended for those who like to climb on cobblestones!

Not as steep, but with cobblestones. For that reason alone you should take it. And quite long to do a block.

One of the longer climbs in the Hageland with a changing road surface. In the beginning you have to search for a narrow road between the houses with sometimes a parked car on the road. Gradually the road winds up and after a few hundred meters you get to the cobblestones which are ok but make it a bit harder despite the climb is never steep. Pay attention at the crossing with the Meistraat for cyclists going down. After that a short while cobblestones but after the right turn it's asphalt again but not the best for the next 150 meters. The surroundings are beautiful, especially the middle part because after that, the climb continues in the open plain but here the headwind (south wind) can be a nuisance so you have to pedal. A nice climb although I prefer the Meistraat.

For me the most pleasant climb to Pellenberg from the north side. The cobblestones are great to climb on the big plateau and at the top you can change gears (if the wind is not against you!). Very quiet compared to the Heidebergstraat or Lange Lostraat. Nice surroundings at the start in the dark hollow road.

The first part with the cobblestones is nice, after that the road deteriorates to asphalt and there is not much to it. At the fourarms crossroads (junction 84) you better turn right for another long part of false flat to the village.
