Annoying stretch to use as a leg warmer on the way to Smeysberg.
The beginning of this slope consists of poorly-maintained asphalt. Halfway up the climb - right after the steeper section - the tarmac gives way to concrete slabs, which admittedly bulge better than the previous strip of tarmac.
Once you reach the top, you end up on a plateau where the wind can be hugely detrimental.
In itself, this slope is easy to digest, but you might as well blow yourself up there so that at the foot of the Smeysberg you are not worth a penny.

Het begin van deze helling bestaat uit slecht-onderhouden asfalt. Halverwege de klim - vlak na het steilere stuk - maakt het asfalt plaats voor betonplaten, die weliswaar beter bollen dan de voorgaande strook asfalt.
Eénmaal bovengekomen kom je op een plateau terecht waar de wind enorm in het nadeel kan waaien.
Op zich is deze helling makkelijk te verteren, maar je kan je er evengoed opblazen zodat je aan de voet van de Smeysberg geen cent meer waard bent.
An unpleasant slope, because after this you have a plateau on concrete slabs. This is always slightly up or down. For the rest, this climb is not very significant.
Vervelende helling aangezien je hierna nog een plateau hebt op betonplaten. Dit loopt steeds licht op of af. Voor de rest stelt deze klim redelijk weinig voor.
It's really nothing. Three flights of stairs and you're up. If your route runs along it is nice, but would certainly not divert for it
Stelt echt niks voor. Drie keer trappen en je bent boven. Als je route er langs loopt is het leuk, maar zou het er zeker niet voor omleggen
Slope is too big a word. It's a stretch that goes slightly more than a false flat uphill. When the race route for the world championships in Leuven in 2021 was announced, I was surprised about the title of slope for this stretch. But that doesn't mean it's not disappointing, this Veeweidestraat. A pace breaker, maybe that's a good title.
Helling is een te groot woord. Een stuk dat net iets meer dan vals plat bergop gaat. Bij de aankondiging van het parcours van het WK in Leuven in 2021, was ik verbaast over de titel van helling voor deze strook. Dat wil echter niet zeggen dat het niet tegenvalt, die Veeweidestraat. Een tempobreker, misschien is dat een goeie titel.
Gentle climb through the fields. Not very difficult and you can hardly feel the little 9％ passage, so quite trivial, but just interesting as it leads to the village of Huldenberg and from there to the famous Smeysberg.
Douce montée à travers les champs. Pas très difficile et on sent à peine le petit passage à 9％. donc assez banale, mais juste intéressante car elle mène au village de Huldenberg et, de là, au fameux Smeysberg.
Great for a solid sprint uphill. Full caprol downhill and ride up on the big plateau. Pleasant as a warm-up for Smeysberg.
Heerlijk om een stevig sprintje op te trekken. Volle petrol bergaf en op de grote plateau tot boven rijden. Plezant als opwarmer voor Smeysberg.
Very little, you hardly feel the 9％ and you are up there in no time. It is also a very busy road (when I was there anyway) in the middle of the fields.
Heel weinig aan, die 9％ voel je amper en je bent zo boven. Daarbij is het ook nog een vrij drukke weg (toen ik er toch was) midden in de velden.
