Up to Setcases the gradients are mild. After that, you regularly tick over 10％ and it's quite a struggle. After Setcases, a sign along the road informs you every kilometre about the altitude, the average percentage for the next kilometre and the distance to the top. Each time you look forward to a new sign knowing that another kilometre is on the way.
The last kilometre and a half near the ski station car parks contains a few more hairpin turns in short succession. I thought it looked pretty nice. All in all, a climb that captures the imagination.
Tot Setcases zijn het milde stijgingspercentages. Daarna tik je toch regelmatig boven de 10％ aan en is het flink doorstampen. Na Setcases staat verder iedere kilometer een bordje langs de weg die je informeert over de hoogte, het gemiddelde percentage van de komende kilometer en de afstand tot de top. Je kijkt iedere keer weer uit naar een nieuw bordje wetende dat er weer een kilometer op zit.
De laatste anderhalve kilometer bij de parkeerplaatsen van het skistation zitten kort opeenvolgende nog enkele haarspeldbochten. Ik vond het er wel mooi uitzien. Al met al een klim die tot de verbeelding spreekt.

Was on holiday in Platja D'Aro and drove to Olot by car. I first drove to the left up the Collada de Sentigosa on N260a and GI-521 and then via Sant Joan de les Abadesses over the coll de Burgarès (Pla d' en Plata) via GIV-5211 before driving up the Vallter2000. After the descent at Sant Pau de Segúries, you can turn left off the C-38 onto the C-153a and ride through another beautiful natural area until you come out on the N-260 again. Very nice round trip.
Heel mooie klim naar de top. Reed hem op 4 mei omhoog. Weinig verkeer en over het algemeen goed wegdek. Zitten hier en daar wel wat scheuren in en soms wat kleinere gaten. Goed op blijven letten en dan is het prima te doen. Prachtige omgeving en mooie vergezichten.
Was op vakantie in Platja D'Aro en met de auto naar Olot gereden. Nice climb, good tarmac, little traffic and a nice runner. You can enjoy cycling up it, but do not start too fast at the bottom. It takes a long time and the vicious piece comes later in the climb. At the top is not necessarily very nice in the ski village, but the climb itself is delicious.
Mooie beklimming, goed asfalt, weinig verkeer en een lekker loper. Je kunt hem heerlijk opfietsen, maar ga onderaan niet te voortvarend van start. Hij duurt lang en het venijnige stuk komt pas later in de klim. Bovenop is het niet per se heel mooi in het ski dorp, maar de beklimming an sich is heerlijk.

From Camprodon it is nice and warm and the climb really starts in Setcases.
Just outside Setcases you encounter the steepest part and you climb above 10％. Only at the first hairpin you get a moment of rest (I mean outside the curve) but it remains quite steep for at least 5km.
The views get better the higher you go and that compensates for the huge stretches of asphalt around the last hairpin turns.
Anyway, a ski resort needs parking lots, but it does not make it more beautiful.
This climb scores its points by the rough environment and that makes it one that you should do if you are in the area.
Mooie klim, doodlopend dus weinig verkeer.
Vanuit Camprodon is het lekker warmfietsen en begint de klim pas echt in Setcases.
Vlak buiten Setcases kom je het steilste gedeelte tegen en klim je boven de 10％. Pas bij de eerste haarspeldbocht krijg je een moment van rust (buitenbocht bedoel ik dan) maar hij blijft dan nog zeker 5km aardig steil.
De uitzichten worden naarmate je hoger komt wel mooier en dat compenseert de enorme lappen asfalt die rondom de laatste haarspeldbochten liggen.
Maar goed, een skioord heeft parkeerplaatsen nodig, maar maakt het er niet mooier op.
Deze klim scoort zijn punten door de ruwe omgeving en dat maakt het toch een die je moet doen als je in de buurt bent.
