One of the most beautiful walls in the Ardennes, les Hézalles, forms the beginning of this climb. After that, it becomes much easier, then descends to Bergeval to go up, by a narrow road, in bad condition but practicable (at least last year), towards the Tier de la Cognée. The setting is very pleasant, especially at the end of the hill.
Not so long ago, you could climb to the Tier de la Cognée via the Salm valley, but this side has become impassable for road bikes from Rochelinval...
Un des plus beaux « murs » ardennais, les Hézalles, forme l'entame de cette côte. Ensuite, elle devient nettement plus facile, puis descend sur Bergeval pour remonter, par une route étroite, en mauvais état mais praticable (du moins l'année dernière), vers le Tier de la Cognée. Le cadre est très agréable, particulièrement sur cette fin de la côte.
Il n'y a pas si longtemps, on pouvait monter au Tier de la Cognée par la vallée de la Salm, mais ce versant est devenu impraticable pour les vélos de route à partir de Rochelinval…
