Very similar to the second, steeper part of the Tauernpass coming from the Radstadt side. The road is in good condition, although not perfect, the gradient is very constant. The big star here is the nature surrounding the climb, very beautiful high alpine views, if you don't mind the occasional ski slope. Obertauern itself is the typical boring faceless skiing town if you pass through in summer, but there is a supermarket and some restaurants if you want to take a break.
