This climb can be categorized as a more direct way between the local village of Lautenthal and Sternplatz. It starts out in the outskirts of the village and is easy to find if you come via the cycle path from Wildemann. The first 500 meters are quite steep, but you will quickly find that gradient eases as you ride through the forest. The middle section is between 4 and 6% and good for getting the tempo up. Towards the end comes a longer straight section with slightly higher gradients where you can sense an opening between the trees - this is the Sternplatz. Sternplatz works as a hub with many paths connecting (both gravel trails and the asphalt road), meaning that this climb is ideal for both gravel and road cyclists. The climb is perfectly paved with asphalt all the way.
