Climb starts with snappy percentage, fine road to ride on. Quiet in terms of traffic and other road users. You're regularly rewarded with beautiful views and it's great cycling in the shade, especially in the morning.
At the top at Schneiderwissen, I treated myself to a delicious Apfelstrudel.
The road down to Bolsano is very bad at first, but soon gets better.
Nice and tough climb to acclimatise and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Challenging ascent. Near the summit, the landscape improves, with the possibility of some panoramic views and stretches through the heart of the forest. To be done if you are in the area

Salita impegnativa.

On the rest day of the Giro delle Dolomiti we decided to do a short tour. We had missed a day because of bad weather, so we had to gain some altitude meters, and this one was closest to Bolzano. Without really having read up on it I started this climb; the start is pretty steep (think Alpe d'Huez) and that did not get less during 11km. Somewhere at 3/4th there is a small descent/flat part to give the legs some rest, but that only shows that the average is well over 10%.

Not the best climb in terms of views. You can't see anything through the trees. On top there is a cable car with a lookout tower, but after 11km and 1,100hm 156 steps are not the first thing you smile at. The connecting road to the descent is bad, but otherwise a nice challenge and quiet climb.
