A really nice climb. After the mundane stuff of Gstaad, you ride as always in Switzerland suddenly in complete silence, meadows and old wooden farms and soon you turn right. The road immediately clatters with 10+% on your calves. Then it becomes a good climb over narrow but good roads, sometimes hidden between hedges or trees, sometimes all the way through the open field. After about two kilometres there is an open area where you can see the village of Schönried far ahead and your cycling mates far behind you. At the bend to the left it gets steep for a while and then suddenly you come across a small hill and it is flat and even slightly downhill (the place where the photo was taken). The beautiful part of the climb is now over. In the village you turn right on the main road, where nobody is happy, not the cars and not you either. Put a big plate on the road and ram it until the next village where the top of the climb is. If you do not like big roads, turn right at the top, over the railway and then keep left/straight on. You take the old road to Zweisimmen, very steep up and down but much quieter than the main road.
