It's after this barrier that the gradients get tougher, especially after climbing La Forclaz. The last ramp on the left is really an ordeal at over 20% to get to the paraglider departure point. Stop a little before these there is a first spot a little lower down with a superb view of Lake Annecy, even more beautiful than from La Forclaz and there are no trees to get in the way of the view. This little road is really nasty, really nasty!
The gradients are indecent and deliciously uneven!
The bends are divinely designed. Once through the little barrier, it climbs violently. Our only companions are the paragliders, who climb on foot at a slightly slower pace than us...
Personally, I was a bit squirmy on the bike, blowing like a buffalo, but it passed quickly. But the reward is just as good: the view is splendid. More breathtaking than the one from the pass.
The paraglider take-off zone is a magnificent spot.
In my opinion, once you've reached the Col de la Forclaz, it's absolutely essential to take on the Rue de la Rochette.

So that's why you have to climb it, for that view.
From memory, I don't think it's suitable for road bikes.
