A fun climb that is definitely worthwhile. From Vresse-Sur-Semois, you climb up a narrow road through the forest. At the top, you are rewarded with beautiful views over the fields. The climb is steep but nowhere too steep and thus well doable for the average cyclist.
Een leuke klim die zeker de moeite waard is. Vanuit Vresse-Sur-Semois klim je omhoog via een smalle weg door het bos. Bovenaan word je beloond met een mooi uitzicht over de velden. De klim is stijl maar nergens te stijl en dus goed te doen voor de gemiddelde wielrenner.
Beautiful slope with a panorama on the left and majestic wild trees that seem to form a guard of honour. Not easy, but not the most difficult thing the Semois valley has to offer (for that you have to go to Les Enclaves). At the top you are in the wind, which may make the undertaking even more difficult. Funny is that the 'barbecue equipment' mentioned in the Encyclopedia Cotacol (1989) is still there 30 years later. (Observation on April 6, 2018)
Mooie helling met een panorama op links en majestueuze wilde bomen die een erehaag lijken te vormen. Niet van de poes, maar ook weer niet het lastigste wat de Semoisvallei te bieden heeft (daarvoor moet je naar Les Enclaves). Boven zit je wel vol in de wind, wat de onderneming mogelijk nog lastiger maakt. Grappig is dat de 'barbecue-uitrusting', waarvan sprake in de Encyclopedie Cotacol (1989) er 30 jaar later nog altijd staat. (waarneming op 6 april 2018)
Nice climb on good asphalt and little traffic.
The climb maintains a steady percentage until the end, so no long spurts. Top of the bill.

De klim bijft tot het einde stevige percentages houden, dus geen lange uitloper. Topper.

A typical climb in the Ardennes, starting from the village and going up the hill. First along the houses, then through the forest, ending on top of the plain between the fields.
Typisch zo'n Ardense beklimming die vanuit het dorp de heuvel op loopt. Eerst langs de huizen, dan een stuk het bos door, eindigend bovenop de vlakte tussen de weilanden.

The first 2 km are quite tough, but doable. The climb is pretty even, so finding a good pace and keeping up with it is perfectly possible.
Mooie klim op een rustige weg tussen de bomen op degelijk asfalt.
De eerste 2 km zijn vrij stevig, echter wel te doen. Klim is vrij gelijkmatig, dus een goed tempo zoeken en tred aanhouden kan perfect.
The first part is difficult because it goes for 1 km above 10％ and it stays like that but you don't realize it because you are driving through the woods. Traffic is very quiet.
Het eerste deel is lastig want het gaat zeker voor 1 km boven de 10％ en het blijft zo maar dat heb je niet door omdat je door de bossen rijdt. Verkeer is zeer rustig.
