Nice climb that is easy to do. Did this one on the mountain bike with the gravel road on the other side of Montagne Lachens as the descent.
By road bike, you really have to go back the same way anyway.
Very little traffic and the road was in good condition.
Leuke klim die goed te doen is. Deze gedaan op de mountainbike met als afdaling de gravel weg aan de andere kant van Montagne Lachens.
Met de wegfiets moet je toch echt dezelfde weg terug.
Zeer weinig verkeer en de weg was in goede staat.
At the moment, they are working on the road at this col. Many stones and a big gully in the road. For the climb this is not a problem but the descent is link now.

Momenteel wordt er op deze col aan de weg gewerkt. Veel steentjes en een flinke geul in de weg. Voor de klim is dat geen probleem maar de afdaling is er link nu.

Ascent on 2 April 2021. As the climb is on the north side, it can get quite cold. After 2 weeks of warm and pleasant weather, there was still snow along the road. The road surface is reasonable, but you have to be careful on the descents! Just before reaching the summit (continue to the gate), there is a bend to the right. There is the Col du Lachens, which also serves as a platform for paragliding. Little traffic in spring and autumn.
Montée le 2 avril 2021. Comme la montée se fait sur le côté nord, il peut faire assez froid. Après 2 semaines de temps chaud et agréable, il y avait encore de la neige le long de la route. La surface de la route est raisonnable, mais dans les descentes, il faut faire attention ! Juste avant d'atteindre le sommet (continuez jusqu'au portail), il y a un virage à droite. Il y a le Col du Lachens, qui sert également de plate-forme pour le parapente. Peu de trafic au printemps et en automne.
The roof of the Var. From the coast in 75km to over 1700m altitude. Beautiful climb, also a beautiful road to it. During the last 10km you will see nothing and nobody. At the top there is nothing but a military post. View is beautiful.
Het dak van de Var. Vanaf de kust in 75km naar ruim 1700m hoogte. Prachtige klim, ook een prachtige weg er naartoe. Tijdens de laatste 10km kom je niets en niemand tegen. Boven is ook niets behalve een militaire post. Uitzicht is prachtig.
