Magnifique pépite! On enchaîne les épingles, suspendu au dessus de la vallée et de Briançon. L'ambiance est exceptionnelle, pas une voiture ! Le béton est cependant bon mais attention à la descente, il y a régulièrement des déformations et il peut y avoir quelques cailloux sur la route ! Je me suis arrêté à la piste non bétonnée

After passing a hamlet (4 houses, 0 inhabitants), the road is totally gravel for the last kilometre. The view of the Cité Vauban and the whole mountain range is breathtaking. The little chapel is full of charm. A beautiful but demanding climb. Definitely worth doing.

The descent is fantastic. But watch out for all the pitfalls (the bumps in particular). It's a very technical descent and potentially dangerous if you're not careful.

L’effort est rude d’autant qu’en réalité il commence bien plus bas depuis le centre de Briançon.
La route est minuscule et elle serpente tous les 10 mètres…
Un véritable concentré d’épingles à cheveux.
Et cette route est aussi bosselée donc gaffe en redescendant.
Après avoir dépassé un hameau (4 maisons 0 habitants) la route est totalement gravel sur le dernier kilomètre. Et ça continue à grimper durement.
La vue sur la Cité Vauban et sur toute la chaîne de montagnes est saisissante.
La petite chapelle décatie est pleine de charme. Une très belle mais exigeante ascension.
À faire, sans aucun doute.
Pas de photo aujourd’hui : j’avais oublié ma batterie externe au camping. C’est regrettable parce qu’il y avait de la belle matière photographique.

La descente est fantastique. Mais attention à toutes les embûches (les bosses notamment). Une descente bien technique et potentiellement dangereuse si vous n’êtes pas vigilant.
Hairpin paradise! By gravel bike, I conquered this short, steep climb in July 2023. Where the tarmac stops, I scrambled up another one-and-a-half km on a (tricky) gravel path. Once at the top, you are rewarded with phenomenal views of Briancon.
Haarspeldbochtenparadijs! Met de gravel bike deze korte, steile klim bedwongen in juli 2023. Waar het asfalt stopt, ben ik nog een anderhalve km omhoog geklauterd via een (lastig) gravelpaadje. Eens boven op de top word je beloond met een fenomenaal uitzicht op Briancon.

Weet waar je aan begint! De ene haarspeldbocht volgt de andere op en bij elke gaat het gigantisch stijl omhoog. Kortom: prachtig!

At the start it is already steep up via hairpin bends and this will remain the constant throughout the climb. In the first phase you pass a medical center located on the mountainside and then dive alone and without traffic on a narrow road into the pine forest.
The views on Briançon and the surrounding mountain peaks are just as breathtaking as the route and make you forget the double digit percentages and the sore legs.
It's a shame that for racing bikes the road stops in Serre Lan before you reach the panoramic Croix de Toulouse (1962m), but nevertheless this short adventurous climb is not to be missed!
Briançon heeft naast de 3 grote fietskleppers (Izoard/Granon/Galibier) waarmee ze op spandoeken uitpakken, ook nog deze verborgen onbekende klim.
Bij de start gaat het al direct steil omhoog via haarspeldbochten en dit zullen de constanten blijven gedurende de hele klim. In de aanvangsfase fiets je nog een op de bergflank gelegen Medisch Centrum voorbij om daarna eenzaam en zonder verkeer op smalle weg het naaldwoud in te duiken.
De uitzichten op Briançon en de omringende bergpieken zijn net zoals de route adembenemend en doen je de dubbele cijfers percentages en de pijnlijke benen vergeten.
Spijtig dat voor racefietsen de weg stopt in Serre Lan voor je het panoramapunt Croix de Toulouse (1962m) bereikt, maar desondanks mag je deze korte avontuurlijke klim absoluut niet aan je laten voorbij gaan!
Unknown but an absolute must near Briançon you are here alone (with some hikers and some mountain bikers) the road is steep and the view is phenomenal. Anyone who is in the vicinity of Brainçon and loves secret tips should definitely do this climb!
Onbekend maar een absolute aanrader nabij Briançon je bent hier alleen (met wat wandelaars en wat mountainbikers) de weg is steil en het uitzicht is fenomenaal. Iedereen die in de buurt van Brainçon zit en van geheimtips houdt moet deze klim zeker doen!
