The Rot is an alternative to the Hellegat, with the sole purpose of sparing the legs if you are passing through to the Wall of Houwaart and its variants.
There is quite a lot of car traffic, and the ambient noise from the E314 freeway soon makes the experience unpleasant. A ray of hope: the bike path is in good shape.
Het Rot is een alternatief voor het Hellegat, met als enige doel om de benen te sparen indien je op doortocht bent naar de Muur van Houwaart en diens varianten.
Er is tamelijk veel autoverkeer, en het omgevingslawaai van de autosnelweg E314 maakt de beleving al gauw vervelend. Een lichtpuntje: het fietspad ligt er al bij al goed bij.
Long broad road that goes up false flat. Only the last part 100 m before the bridge of the highway is a bit steeper.
I don't like it and usually ride via the Hellegat and the nice tarmac road through the forest towards Nieuwrode.
Lange brede weg die vals plat omhoog loopt . Enkel het laatste stuk 100 m voor de brug van de snelweg is wat steiler.
Ik vind hem niet zo leuk en rij meestal via het Hellegat en de leuke asfaltweg door het bos richting Nieuwrode.
