A rare climb from Briançon, not too bad... But it ends in a dirt road ...............
Climb starts immediately uphill when leaving Briançon (route du Gap) via 2 hairpin bends to Le Pinet. Route climbs up the valley flank with some double digit lanes. There is a fairly new route that climbs spectacularly hanging and twisting against the cliff with a wonderful panoramic view of the valley. Continue to Puy St.Andre, a small cosy village with a church, rest for a while and then continue to Puy Chalvin, the last small village with a few houses and a chapel. Was for me the end point (6 km - 1650 m end altitude) because the asphalt road just outside the village turns into a gravel path.
Ideal solid warm-up with hardly any traffic (not even cyclists) for cycling on the tour classics from Briancon.
