A fetish route thanks to the possibility of accessing it without the need for public transport, thanks to the practical cycle path that goes all the way to Soto del Real. Once there, the route unfolds towards Miraflores de la Sierra, and then you take the road to the left, well signposted, which leads to the top of this beautiful climb. Although it does not feature extremely tough ramps, it maintains a steady uphill pace that will put your legs to the test. The effort is rewarded with impressive views from the viewpoint, where you can enjoy the Miraflores de la Sierra reservoir both during the ascent and from the top. You can also see the Santillana reservoir, or so I think it is, in the distance. A practical detail is the vending machine shop located about 5 minutes from Soto del Real, in the direction of Miraflores, where you can find hot food, snacks, energy gels and some products for cyclists. A very useful refreshment point for those who venture along this route. I forgot! During the week there is little traffic once you take the left turn off, at weekends there may be more traffic, but I don't know.

Nice climb up, nowhere really very steep but rises nicely. Good road surface and on the day of cycling it was nice and quiet.

Great road surface, not too much traffic, great views. Climbfinder rates this as 2cat but Vuelta had it as 1cat in 2022. Popular with cyclists from Madrid and around, and easy to see why. Steady climbing - no "killer" steep bits.
