Very enjoyable. As Jeroen says, smooth quiet roads, lovely scenery, and a work out without being too hard. Significantly easier than the nearby Morcuera, I would say, but worth doing, especially if like me today you haven't been on the road bike in a while.

The Puerto de Canencia is a nice and very beautiful climb. The climb is not too difficult, although the first part in Miraflores starts a lot steeper than the 7% indicated here. Fortunately, this only lasts for about 500 metres. The climb goes through a beautiful pine tree forest and you will be treated to many views along the way. There are vistas where you can see Madrid (which lies 50 kilometres to the south). During the climb there is a sign every kilometre with the percentages of the climb. The road surface is top, also on the other side. A nice downhill ride. There is hardly any traffic, but sometimes tough Spaniards who drive fast uphill :)
This climb is a must! Also very nice in a loop in combination with the Puerto de la Morcuera.
