A bit of a peculiar col this climb . The first 4 km you follow the D24 which barely climbs until at some point you turn diagonally left. You ride through a beautiful forest with nice tarmac and completely in the shade . After 2 km the road surface becomes rougher and steeper to change a bit further into a bumpy asphalt layer with lots of gravel and actually not recommended for a road bike but in front of me was a group of French riders and they rode their road bikes just uphill. A gravel bike or mountain bike is better here. Due to its length, poor road surface and varying gradients, it is quite tough. The tougher part of this climb is clearly in the middle section. Because it contains the occasional section of descent or vkak, this col is harder than the average suggests. Well 100% shade and sometimes dark in the forest.
