The climb starts already in Dolhain just before the little tunnel under the railway line. After the tunnel, turn right. A bit further before the curve to the left the climb starts. After the curve near the bus stop, take a sharp right onto Polenterie. From the left-hand bend to the first detached house on the right of the road, the steepest part is in front of you. After that it "undulates" a bit up and down until the top. The road surface is actually just bad but the climb is worthwhile.
At the first major junction after the summit, turn right to Hoyoux or left to Villers to continue your ride. Definitely don't go straight. You will then enter very super bad road consisting of rough repack and slabs of bad asphalt.
De klim begint al in Dolhain net voor het tunneltje onder de spoorlijn. Na het tunneltje gelijk rechtsaf. Een stukje verder voor de bocht naar links begint het al aardig op te lopen. Na de bocht t.h.v. de bushalte scherp rechtsaf Polenterie oprijden. Vanaf de bocht naar links tot aan het eerste vrijstaande huis rechts van de weg krijg je het steilste deel voor de wielen. Daarna "golft" het tot aan de top wat op en neer. Het wegdek is eigenlijk gewoon slecht maar de klim is wel de moeite waard.
Ga op de eerste grote kruising na de top rechtsaf naar Hoyoux of linksaf naar Villers om je rit verder te vervolgen. Ga zeker niet rechtdoor. Je gaat dan zeer super slechte weg op die bestaat uit grove repack en plakken slecht asfalt.
Because of the Walloon road surface, one star less but if you don't mind that, this climb is highly recommended. Especially the first steep part - where the asphalt is still pretty good - offers beautiful scenery and views of Limbourg. As it flattens out, the road surface also deteriorates, but climbing it is in itself quite doable (although sometimes quite bumpy). The first turn to the left (near the houses) once you have left the main road is an unpleasant one because it is really steep.
Vanwege het Waalse wegdek een ster minder maar als je daar niet tegenop ziet is deze klim een echte aanrader. Vooral het eerste steile deel - waarbij het asfalt nog best goed is - biedt een mooie omgeving en fraaie uitzichten op Limbourg. Als het vlakker wordt, wordt het wegdek ook slechter maar klimmend is dit op zich wel prima te doen (wel soms behoorlijk hobbelig). De eerste bocht naar links (bij de huizen) als je de grote weg hebt verlaten is een instinker want echt steil.
Did this climb as a descent, very bad road to descend, almost impossible to do even as a climb, hands hurt from braking due to bad road. Extended ascent also remains very bad country road with potholes and pebbles.
Deze beklimming gedaan als afdaling, zéééér slechte weg om af te dalen, zelfs als beklimming vanaf 0,5km waar je afslaat van grote weg bijna niet te doen, handen deden pijn van te remmen door slechte weg. Verlengde van de beklimming blijft het ook heel slechte landweg met putten en kiezels.
