E una dei passi storici delle Dolomiti, il primo passo delle Dolomiti a essere affrontato dal Giro d Italia nel 1938. La salita non è difficile, è molto regolare e non vi sono pendenze impegnative. Però sono più di 20 km e non finiscono mai. Fino a San Martino è un lungo rettilineo in bosco senza particolari panorami. Poi iniziano alcuni tornanti e si vedono le pale di San Martino. La parte più bella è alla fine dopo 16 km quando si affronta una serie di tornanti finali, una specie di scala che permette di arrivare al Passo. Li si capisce di essere in ... alto e di essere vicini alla metà. Sul passo non mancate di fermarvi al monumento a Bartali e Gimondi 100 m prima del culmine sulla sinistra. Onore ai campioni!
