I (like many here) did this climb in combination with the Vrsic. Nice climb through the forests and nice descent to enter Italy. Also, I think the score of 3.3 is a bit on the low side, so hence my correction here.
Ik deed (zoals velen hier) deze klim in combinatie met de Vrsic. Mooie klim door de bossen en leuke afdaling om Italië binnen te rijden. Bovendien vind ik de score van 3,3 wat aan de lage kant, dus vandaar hier even mijn correctie.
This climb would get 5 stars if it were in the Vosges. Because there is so much more beautiful in the neighbourhood, the climb scores lower.
The climb from this side is a lot spicier than the other side. There are some very steep parts that last for quite a long time. Along the way, you have beautiful views of the mountain peaks around you.
The road surface is good at times and less so at others. Along the way, there are plenty of fountains to fill up with water. On the pass at the border is a restaurant with good coffee.
Deze klim zou als hij in de Vogezen zou liggen 5 sterren krijgen. Omdat er zoveel nog mooier in de buurt ligt scoort de klim lager.
De klim van deze kant is een stuk pittiger dan van de andere kant. Er zitten goed steile stukken tussen die best lang aanhouden. Onderweg heb je prachtige uitzichten op de bergtoppen om je heen.
Het wegdek is op momenten goed en dan weer wat minder. Onderweg kom je genoeg fonteintjes tegen om water bij te vullen. Op de pas bij de grensovergang zit een restaurantje met lekkere koffie.

Rustige klim in de nabijheid van de Mangart (die zich pas in Log Pod Mangartom van de Predel afsplitst). Op de top passeer je de verlaten grenspost met Italië.
Climb to border crossing with Italy. Road surface ok. Big road, so some larger traffic also passes occasionally, although it is not really a busy road. Only after the village of Log pod Mangartom does it get a bit steeper. Beautiful surroundings. Did this climb during a round trip that also included the Vršič pass.
Klim naar grensovergang met Italië. Wegdek ok. Wel grote weg waardoor ook wat groter verkeer af en toe passeert hoewel het niet echt een drukke weg is. Pas na het dorp Log pod Mangartom wordt het wat steiler. Mooie omgeving. Heb deze klim gedaan tijdens een rondrit met ook de Vršič pas.
Beautiful quiet border crossing from Slovenia to Italy. Nice run through quiet, remote valley. Not very difficult, but in the Dreiländertour it was my final climb - and the last climb is always the toughest!
Mooie rustige grens overgang van Slovenië naar Italië. Mooie aanloop door rustig, afgelegen dal. Niet heel zwaar, maar in de Dreiländertour was het mijn slotklim - en de laatste klim is altijd de zwaarste!
