Ridden in July of 2024. A nice even gradiant and hairpins all the way. Most of the climb though is in a forest, so not many views, but you can always sense the Sella-Massif above everything. Unfortunatly it's a rather busy road. When you near the top, the forest goes away and you can enjoy the views, because they are here. From the top there is a beautiful downhill to Arabba.
Started the Sellaronda with this climb in September 2025. Very fun climb with a constant gradient. The scenery in the last part of the climb is spectacular. Did this on Sellaronda Bike Day, so there was zero traffic. Highly recommend!
1.17 first climb in Dolomites mostly 7-8 some easier segment 5-6 Nice view leads in and out
Iconic climb, breathtaking views and an air of myths and legends. Long but steady ascent, never prohibitive gradients, just a lot of fun
Salita iconica, viste mozzafiato e aria di miti e leggende. Salita lunga ma costante, mai pendenze proibitive, ma solo tanto divertimento
8/10 If you 'm riding all the way from Canazei, it's still quite a long climb. I was glad to leave the hustle and bustle of Canazei behind me a bit. With some nice hairpins you climb steadily up. At Laghetto Lupo Bianco it is a bit busier but fortunately it is easy to get past, after which it is a fairly constant climb to higher altitude. You ride almost the entire climb in a wooded area, until the last. Then you have more views, which are magnificent! At the top, a stunning descent to Arabba awaits you. Also definitely recommended as a climb :)
For me Sella Ronda ride, this was the last climb. After descending the Sella pass, kept left at the junction. I didn't do the whole climb from Canasei. The first km are in the forest. The asphalt is moderate in places. Once out of the forest, the tarmac and the views get better and more beautiful. The hairpin bends follow each other in rapid succession to finally arrive at the summit. At the summit, a photo at Coppi's monument is mandatory! And be sure to take in the scenery too, stunning! In summer, the summit is very crowded.
I did this climb on Friday 27 June at 8:30am. In terms of views and intensity, this climb is really great and absolutely worth doing. However, I find the traffic (especially many motorbikes) and road surface less so. Views and intensity (5/5). Road surface and traffic density (3/5).
Climb made during the Sellaronda bike day. Done starting from Canazei, it is the first climb. The climb in itself is already spectacular, beautiful to tackle. The history written on this climb makes it unique. Very good asphalt. breathtaking views.
Salita fatta durante il sellaronda bike day. Asfalto molto buono. panorami mozzafiato.
Since this pass is usually open even in winter, I 'm climbed it in March. Despite the snow, the road is kept well clear of snow. Due to weather effects, the road surface can be bad here and there. In itself, the views are nicer on the other side of the pass (from Arabba), but the side from Canazei is known as the Passo Pordoi climb. The first 6 kilometres are similar to the ascent of the Sella Pass. After 6 kilometres you turn right and continue your way to the Pordoi Pass. The last 2 kilometres are beautiful with lots of hairpin turns and great views of the Sas Podoimassisef, where you can take a big gondola for a spectacular panorama. Once at the top of the pass, you should of course stop at the Coppi monument on your left.
Done as the first ascent at the Sellaronda bike festival in September 2024. Starting in Canazei, the first 7/8 km are in the woods before coming out at the end in full view of the Sella massif and Piz Boe... Nice climb with a constant gradient that manages to give regularity to the ascent.
Done as part of the SellaRondaBikeDay 7/9/2024 anticlockwise. If you arrive from Arabba, on this fourth pass, fatigue begins to set in. Here, too, the panorama makes you forget the fatigue. If one climbs from Canazei, one must calculate about three hundred metres more altitude difference than on the Sellaronda tour.
The first 9 kilometres are in a wlad, the last 2 with views of the mountain massif. Generally a wonderful road with lots of hairpins and very constant percentages, so that you can actually always ride at the same speed.
Outside of the Sella Ronda Bikeday, you can expect a lot of traffic.
Did this climb twice last year, one as part of a Sellaronda route and another one as the first climb before venturing to the Passo Sella.
It's a very pleasant climb from Canazei, with nice switchbacks at the start in the forest section. After the intersection with the road to the Passo Sella, the trees gradually give way to fantastic dolomitic panoramas all around you.

A historic climb. I only made it from the crossroads to the Sella. It starts with a somewhat damaged tarmac, then improves. The gradient is constant and the views beautiful. The forest helps to keep cool even on summer days. At the summit it is all too touristy, but the monument to Fausto Coppi arouses great emotion.
A rather long but not very hard climb, it climbs steadily along the spectacular scenery of the Dolomites, and you will forget your fatigue by looking at the panorama. The road surface is excellent and the descent is very satisfying.
Cycled up the Pordoi about 20 times already . Indeed the side from Canazei is the smoothest . From Arabba , however they climb it during the Dolomites Marathon also nice but a bit spicier . The scenery is of course impressive . The climb is also imported on my Garmin connect indoor trainer . And also cycle it 's winter on my Elite suito trainer.
A difficult but beautiful road. Very inconvenient due to a cloud of motorbikes riding dangerously and without imagination. Start in the forest, shared with the road to Passo Sella. The final phase is full of beautiful views.
Trudna lecz piękna droga. Bardzo uciążliwa z powodu chmary motocykli jeżdżących niebezpiecznie i bez wyobraźni. Początek w lesie, wspólny z drogą na Passo Sella. W końcowej fazie pełno pięknych widoków.
Beautiful, not too difficult climb with even gradients. Done after climbing the "Passo Fedaia"from Caprile which by comparison is a monstrous climb.
A wonderful, steady climb with great views of the Dolomites. It goes uphill right away at about 8%. Many Ferarris and sports cars driving the Sella Ronda here, but all in all very nice.
A nice, steady climb that is never particularly steep, to be done regularly even in summer because it is mostly in the shade of the forest. Magnificent view of the Dolomites once you reach the top! Busy at weekends, recommended on weekdays.
Sometimes it is nice to climb a few kilometres in the forest. A bit of shade and the view at the end is all the more surprising. Without having climbed the Pordoi on the other side, you understand why they call this side the easy side. The top is a bit crowded with buildings, but if you walk to the cable car toilets, you can brush up on your historical knowledge with information about a woman who was involved in the pass a century ago. The view at the end of the climb makes it worthwhile. In the descent, I could see that the difficult side must be very spectacular. That one is going on the bucket list!
The 'lesser'side of the Pordoi, but also worthwhile. You cycle most of the time in the forest, but if you then come above the tree line, it is really enjoying. Nowhere really steep
Nergens echt steil
The slightly lesser known side of the Pordoi, but almost as nice to climb. Again, a smooth climb with long stretches of 7-8% and flattening turns. The big difference with the climb from Arabba is the forest during most of the climb, which means more shade and less views.
Perfect to combine with the ascent of the east face of the Fedaia.
In 2017 did the Pordoi from Arabba; like cycling in an arena. Now from Canazei with a departure from Predazzo; ergo 40 kilometres uphill before you reach the top!
Also this side is beautiful and leaves together with the climb to the Passo Sella. He "runs" nice and it is nowhere really steep. The views remain phenomenal and once at the top you can enjoy the huge rocks around you.
Pordoï pass already climbed twice and especially remembered as the first climb of the famous Sella ronda (counter clockwise).
If you start this classic tour down in the tourist Canazei you "full " Passo Pordoï that incidentally until hairpin bend 14 is parallel with the Sella climb. After the junction you pass between the pines, at the height of the solitary beautifully situated Sporthotel Bellavista, the cable car station of Pecol.
The whole climb has good tarmac and is a steady uphill without extremes with to the end 8 short hairpin bends that bring you above the tree line with panoramic views of the Sella and Marmolada massif.
Summit is very touristy and motley collection of cafes, hotels, parking lots, souvenir shops, and large cable car station.
The bronze memorial plaque to Fausto Coppi and the racing bike monument to Gilberto Simoni emphasize the importance of this climb in the Giro d'Italia.
In summer there can be very busy traffic with especially annoying coaches both up and down. Sella lap is also an excursion topper by bus. Early start is the message!
At another starting point of the Sella Ronda you come down from the Passo Sella to the left the last 7 km of the climb to pick.
Beautiful "easy"climbing side to the top which was the roof (Cima Coppi) of the Tour of Italy several times!
