The ascent is very beautiful and much harder than the site says. Because that initial false floor drops a lot. Let's say about 6％. With some long straights close 8％. La Salita è molto bella e ben più dura di quanto dica il sito. Perché quel falso piano iniziale abbassa molto. Diciamo 6％ circa. Con alcuni lunghi rettilinei vicini 8％. Unbelievable but true, on the Lecco side there is never much traffic, thanks to the Bobbio and Artavaggio cable cars, this climb is bistreated by traffic, luckily! I've always liked it, from Moggio there are at least two fountains along the road, a dark tunnel (signal lights recommended), normal ground but a bit rough
Incredibile ma vero, lato lecchese non c'è mai molto traffico, complici le funivie di Bobbio e Artavaggio questa salita viene bistrattata dal traffico, per fortuna! A me è sempre piaciuta, da Moggio ci sono almeno due fontane lungo la strada, una galleria buia (consigliate luci segnaletiche), fondo normale ma un po' ruvido
The climb is divided into two sections and is fairly regular, although there are a few hairpin bends that make it non-trivial. Almost no car traffic, but watch out for motorbikes. The road surface is good in some sections that have recently been asphalted and very bad in others, but (May 2025) there are works in progress so it will improve. Be careful going downhill because the road surface is very narrow.
Salita divisa in due tronconi piuttosto regolare anche se con qualche strappetto che la rende non banale. Traffico automobilistico quasi assente ma attenzione alle moto. Fondo stradale buono in alcuni tratti recentemente asfaltati e pessimo in altri ma (Maggio 2025) vi sono lavori in corso quindi migliorerà. Attenzione in discesa perché la sede stradale è molto stretta.
Beautiful climb in the heart of Valsassina, starts from Cremeno but in reality the start is from Lecco (not trivial), after Moggio there's a rinse that leads to the most challenging part, narrow road at times sloping towards the 10％, uneven asphalt. The ring must be completed with the descent into the Taleggio valley, very long but beautiful.
Bella salita nel pieno della Valsassina, parte da Cremeno ma in realtà lo start è da lecco (non banale), dopo moggio c'è un risciacquo che porta nella parte più impegnativa, strada stretta a tratti pendenza verso il 10％, asfalto irregolare. Imperdibile l'anello da completare con la discesa nella val taleggio, molto lunga ma bellissima.
Nice climb. I arrived there from Ballabio and that takes away some of the poetry. About ten kilometres that are worth the ride. PS: be careful because the restaurant at the summit closes on Wednesdays and you'll miss the pizzoccheri!

Nice ride, never too demanding, the hardest stretch is only from the Cremeno roundabout towards Moggio. I never saw the 13％, perhaps only at the roundabout but the Garmin did not indicate it. All asphalted with new stretches alternating with ruined stretches even if uphill it is not so decisive. Found a bit of sand on a bend before the viaduct. After the only, albeit short, tunnel, there is a drinking fountain at an altitude of 914m. Another one almost at the top. Beautiful views and glimpses. I suggest the descent into the Taleggio valley (beautiful!), albeit with a damp bottom.
Bella pedalata mai troppo impegnativa, lo strappetto più duro è solamente a partire dalla rotonda di Cremeno verso Moggio. Non ho mai visto il 13％, forse solo proprio nella rotonda ma il Garmin non lo ha indicato. Tutta asfaltata con tratti nuovi che si alternano a tratti rovinati anche se in salita non è così determinante. Trovato un po' di sabbia su una curva prima del viadotto. Dopo l'unica galleria peraltro breve si trova una fontanella a quota 914m. Un'altra quasi in cima. Bei panorami e scorci. Suggerisco la discesa in val Taleggio (bellissima!) seppure con fondo umido.
