Done on the afternoon of 5 April 2024 in unseasonably hot weather ( 27° with a peak of 30° )
The climb is much harder than its neighbour, the Marlens version of the Col de L'Épine
The Climbfinder profile is fairly faithful to the terrain except that the 19.4% announced does not exist .
The gradient is steep right from the start with figures frequently between 9 and over 10% in places a few brief sections break legs below 6% .
Just one kilometre on a slight downhill false flat with 2km to go and it suddenly picks up to 12-13%.
The tarmac is very good and the diversions is well worth it as the surrounding scenery is magnificent.
The final finish is on a path not passable by ordinary road bike, by mountain bike and Gravel you can climb up to Les Fontanettes and enjoy a mountain meal.

Nice little climb in addition to the Col de l'Epine or from Serraval. The view of the peaks above is superb, as is the view of La Tournette. The last two kilometres are closed in winter.
