Beautiful, challenging, but the best part in my opinion is the ascent after the Colma pass, then in Valla della galleria the road is in poor condition
Bella, impegnativa, ma la parte migliore a mio avviso é la salita successiva al colle della colma, poi invece a valla della galleria la strada é in cattive condizioni
Mythical and challenging climb to the magnificent sanctuary of Oropa, where Dumoulin won in the 2017 Giro. From Biella, the first few kilometres are doable, as you can then catch your breath. After that it gets harder, especially if you take the route via Favaro, the way the pros ride it. There are very hard sections of 13 to 14％. All worth it for the cathedral and the mountain scenery above. The road surface is mostly good. Enjoyment and hardship in one! Climbing time measured from the first bend instead of the centre of Biella.
Mythische en uitdagende klim naar het schitterende heiligdom van Oropa, waar Dumoulin won in de Giro van 2017. Vanuit Biella zijn de eerste kilometers goed te doen, omdat je daarna even op adem kunt komen. Hierna wordt het steeds pittiger, zeker als je de route via Favaro neemt, zoals de profs hem rijden. Daar zitten zeer zware stroken in van 13 à 14％. Allemaal waard voor de kathedraal en het berglandschap boven. Wegdek is overwegend goed. Genieten en afzien in één! (Klimtijd gemeten vanaf de eerste bocht ipv centrum Biella, via Favaro)
Nice climb, I found the beginning, once you leave Biella, quite heavy because of the heat. Then it got better, shaded by the trees. The monastery is worthwhile. Back to Biella, descended on the other side. (Strada del Canal Secco) Beautiful but road surface in poor condition.
Mooie klim, ik vond het begin, eens je Biella uit bent redelijk zwaar door de warmte. Daarna werd het beter, overschaduwd door de bomen. Het klooster is de moeite waard. Terug naar Biella afgedaald langs de andere kant. (strada del canal secco) Mooi maar wegdek in slechte staat.
Beautiful area, very beautiful landscapes. There are signs every km marking the distance and the gradient. There are a couple of hairpin bends over 12％ it is not very easy
Bellissima zona, paesaggi molto belli. Ci sono i cartelli ogni km che segnano la distanza e la pendenza. Ci sono un paio di strappi oltre il 12％ non è facilissimo
