Three words - short and steep! This is a real test of a climb through a lovely village with a castle at the top and great views if you can get there. Starting from the railway crossing it doesn't seem too bad then a bend right and left through some trees and suddenly the gradient kicks up. After crawling up the first challenge the rest of the climb reveals itself as one fairly straight road with a wall at the top. Starting from the railway crossing it doesn't seem too bad then a bend right and left through some trees and suddenly the gradient kicks up. After crawling up the first challenge the rest of the climb reveals itself as one fairly straight road with a wall at the top. It really is a case of saving yourself for the last 150m of 25% where one wobble will put you off your bike. The climb is a road up through the village and so there are cars parked on the side of the road and there will be cars going upnand down but the road is quite wide so there is plenty of room. The road surface is passable although in the first two bends in the trees the tarmac is quite broken up. Overall a great climb with great views and a real physical test.

Absolutely horrific climb at the top but still a must do. Relatively steep all the way up but once you get to the 25% sign with 150m to go it becomes so much worse.
