A very quiet, steady climb up a cul de sac to the village of Montouvrard. Nice views of Allevard and the Flumet basin at the start, which is in the forest. Once in the meadows, the view is of the ridge running from the Collet d'Allevard to the Grand Charnier, and the Bauges in the distance. The tarmac is good for the first 2 kilometres, then uneven. The descent requires vigilance as it can be tricky, with gravel, plant debris, ruts, etc. So I don't allow myself to pick up too much speed.
