Montfort is a little-known hamlet nestling above Plombière ST Marcel, just a stone's throw from Moutiers, accessible via a road cut into the side of a cliff with impeccable tarmac that has been completely redone to date (we were surprised).
The ascent is steep ( very steep ) with many passages above 10%, we quickly overlook the valley, the profile is representative of the average slope but the 15,9% over 100M indicated does not exist on the ground.
A good part of the climb is in the shade, traffic is calm, the village is reached after about 5km but the ascent continues for a little over 700M or so still on a gradient of around 10%.
Note a drinking water fountain in a bend at Montfort.
Take care on the descent, as in some places you have to avoid the rocks (some of them large) that have fallen from the cliffs.
PS: For cyclists on holiday in or near Moutiers, I recommend this climb, which is a departure from the standard of the major cols.

Montfort est un petit hameau méconnu niché au dessus de Plombière ST Marcel à quelques encablures de Moutiers, accessible par une Rte taillée à flancs de falaise avec un bitume impeccable et refait à neuf à ce jour ( nous avons même étaient surpris )
L'ascension est raide ( très raide ) avec de nombreux passages au dessus de 10% ,on surplombe rapidement la vallée, le profil est représentatif de la pente moyenne mais les 15,9% sur 100M indiqués n’existent pas sur le terrain.
Une bonne partie de la montée est à l'ombre, la circulation est calme, le village est atteint après environ 5km mais l'ascension se prolonge un peu plus de 700M environ toujours dans une pente aux alentours de 10%.
A noter une fontaine d'eau potable dans un lacet à Montfort.
Prudence dans la descente car il faut éviter à certains endroits les cailloux ( parfois gros ) tombés de la falaise.
PS : Pour les cyclistes en vacances à Moutiers ou proche, je recommande cette ascension qui sort du standard des grands cols.
