I did it this morning on a road bike and I agree that it is the hardest climb in Sardinia (considering those over 5 kilometres). There is a section at 20% where you have to summon your hidden strength, the hairpin bends partly allow you to catch your breath because the gradients are always in double figures. The second position I would assign to the Talana climb
I have done this climb by MTB and only in the second part from the junction where the real climb begins, so the average gradient does not do justice to this climb which is rightly classified as the hardest in Sardinia; the climb is all at 10-12% and has no rest points, the hairpin bends only help a little, the scenery is spectacular and traffic is limited; when you reach the top you will find a 360° panoramic viewpoint and you will be obliged to descend the same road to return, but not before stopping to visit the splendid natural arch about halfway up the climb, with a short walk of a few hundred metres, consider some cyclocross/XC shoes.
This climb is really hard, I climbed Monte Tuttaviasta in the middle of the summer on my racing bike (so nice and warm).
The start of the climb from Galtellì is doable, many 8% meter sections and even a small descent.
But as soon as you turn left from the main road to the real climb, it is a fight for every meter. The climb is very irregular, especially at the end I saw 17, 18 and 19% on my garmin.
The road surface is not very good, lots of loose stones and here and there cracks in the road. Especially in the descent you have problems with that. An advantage is that you don't encounter people because it is a very narrow road with many hairpin bends.
The view is beautiful but you have to work for it.
