I would much rather recommend the same climb through Vincigliata - less trafficked and more scenic. It's amongst my favorite climbs for shorter interval sessions from Florence.

The climb starts at the northern end of Firenze.There is moderate traffic. Well worth the effort, though I have found prettier ways up to Fiesole.
