One must bear in mind that to begin this climb, one must arrive in Forgaria, either from Ponte dell' Amistizio, or from Cornino. Nothing difficult, but to say that the climb begins, in reality, a little lower down.
The first section is a bit of a climb, there are increases in gradients in view of the hamlets and almost flat stretches where the legs rest.
Until you leave San Rocco, the road is narrow and passes through hamlets. Leaving San Rocco, the landscape of the "real" climb begins, but the good news is that the road is quite wide and the road surface good. Alfine is one of the best maintained climbs in the area, where we have some "problematic" roads.
Be careful on hot days because there is very little vegetation cover.
Past San Rocco there is regularity, as you can see from the graph, nothing difficult but very few sections where "springs". With a little training you can find your rhythm and complete this climb without any major problems.
Once at the top, in fine weather there is an open bar-restaurant where you can enjoy the hospitality of Signora Biagina and her family.
To descend, you can go back the way you came or, after climbing to 900 metres, head towards Avasinis. BEWARE, the descent is steep. You could also descend along the Zopiet road that leads to Pielungo, which is not steep but is not recommended because the ground is bad and the area is totally wild.
