A very beautiful and demanding climb that must be tackled with a great deal of respect and preparation.
I remember tackling it on a rainy day at the end of July, totally alone, and the atmosphere on the climb was incredible: I felt like I was the last man on Earth.

Tough climb, which never lets up for the entire ascent. The section from Savogna to Montemaggiore is on a narrow road, which is fairly sheltered by vegetation and has several hairpin bends. Once we reach Montemaggiore, the vegetation thins out and the final section is on a wide road exposed to the sun. The road surface is excellent from Montemaggiore upwards, while in the first part it is easy to find irregularities and dirt on the asphalt (branches, gravel, etc.); however, nothing that precludes the climb!
