Definitely recommend it if you like a challenge. At the start of the climb a road sign indicates it’s a private road, but it seems nobody really cares. The asphalt is in a bad condition and I would not recommend a descent from this side. Did the climb on a Monday afternoon, saw only one person (in a car) on the whole climb, which is fortunately in the shade thanks to the forest, this also means that (even at the top) you never get rewarded by a nice view. Rode it with 50/34 & 11-32, 11-speed.

Monster climb. Not because of the length but the unrelenting gradients. One of the hardest I’ve done.

The climb starts in a pretty valley to the north and then jumps straight into it. 13%. For the first 200m the surface is decent but then it becomes a single lane, broken bitumen track and doesn’t improve. It ascends through forrest, so is cool and shady in the morning, but never lets up with the gradient as you grind your way up.

The road is in such bad repair I was surprised to see the occasional car. And even passed a lady riding a mountain bike. There are houses scattered along the road but quite sparse.

To my surprise the climb finishes near a restaurant. It seems the other side of the climb (from Brescia) is s popular route for local cyclists. - and a much nicer descent (good road surface).

If you are up for some pain, give it a go. The route I traced from Brescia 40kms/ 850VM) can be found here.
