One of many routes ascending the wide Monte Baldo massif, cycled September 2023.
Start in town of Mori where the wide busy SP3 climbs up the shadowless valley flank via the first hairpin bends between mostly vineyards and through small villages.
After cycling through Bretanico, it's downhill for about five kilometres to the next village of San Giacomo. Here again, recuperation downhill for another steep but shorter climbing stretch to the plateau of San Valentino.
Another climbing route, starting in Avio, joins our path here for the final collective final kilometres.
These are wonderful on narrow road with shade at last, past overhanging rock faces, waterfalls and scary rock tunnels and the last few hairpin bends that drop you into an open rugged mountain landscape.
The beautiful summit, called Bocca del Creer , is starting point of many hiking routes which can be seen by the summer cars parked along the roadside. There is only the Albergo Rifugio Graziani for supplies.

Practical: Starting point Mori can be reached from Lake Garda via Torbole -Nago via a nicely constructed car-free signposted cycling route next to the congested SS240 ( towards Brennerautostrade).
Fine asphalt with kilometre markers (0 to 22). The higher one cycles the less traffic!

Long irregular climb up through vineyards with a beautiful mountainous ending.
Definitely recommended.

Prima asfalt met kilometerpalen (0 to 22). Hoe hoger men fietst hoe minder verkeer!
