Quiet narrow road that initially climbs irregularly upstream along a stream. At the right-angled bend, the climb really begins. The hairpin bends make it feel like you are conquering a big col, even though you are only going up to 500m. The hairpin bends are certainly not flat: especially the 3rd and 5th bend are real corkscrews. Despite having the outside bend in both curves, they are dead flat. In the hamlet of Montaulieu, the tarmac ends, but for those who like it, a gravel road continues to Col des Lantons (726m) from where you can then descend to St.Jalle on a tarmac road. Not really for road bikes, but doable with a gravel bike.
