One of the most difficult climbs in the region. In my opinion it is not less tough than the very difficult cobblestone side of this mountain. This climb however is on a nice tarmac road with almost no traffic. If you ride from the Rue Croix ou Pile to this climb, you get about 3 kilometers of false flat on top where you can hurt your legs quite a bit. Don't miss it if you're riding in the region!... read more

This one just stays steep from start to finish. Because of the wide road, you don't always realise how fast it really goes up here. Road surface is ok, towards the end a bit less and watch out at the crossroads at the top.

Continuously very steep, for the full climb it's fighting the 10%. You should definitely have done the side via the cobbles, but once done that one, I always choose this one. The road surface is fine (itt previous opinion). Ridden down several times already, and it's still a fun descent to do and not bothered by bad road surface. You do reach high speeds because of the steepness, so be careful.

It's worth the diversions but the road isn't in excellent condition so be careful if you take it downhill (which I recommend you do for a magnificent view of Ronse).

It's easier than riding up via the cobbles of Mont Saint Laurent, but that's a bit like saying Evenepoel was slower than Pogacar in the last Tour. It remains a tricky climb. It goes up steeply almost continuously, the road surface is not super and the road is narrow. You ride among the trees for the most part which is pleasant. The scenery is beautiful so I do recommend riding it once.

The first few metres of the climb are a gentle start.

As described earlier, this really is a tough clapper. If such'n climbs are then hidden among the ribbon development, I always snub it a bit. Then I would rather recommend the Rue d'Arabie.

Tricky yes, but still not at all comparable with Mt St Laurent, I think. That one is a lot steeper and the cobblestones are pretty bad.

This is the side that the Grinta Challenge has often used in recent years. Less difficult than the paved side, but certainly not easy! The road is wide, straight, clear and provides few cues for slope and progression. Very, very fast in the downhill direction.
